Even the most refined stainless steel tubing and specialty alloys still contain residual amounts of impurities. Even though the methods used to manufacture these metals are carefully crafted to minimize impurities, users must specify exactly what impurity levels their processes can tolerate.

Protecting the environment

Today there are worldwide pressures to eliminate manufacturing processes that produce heavy metal discharges, ozone depleting gases and toxic waste emissions. Unfortunately, many traditional means of coating surfaces, such as hard chrome plating, involve both toxic materials and discharges.
